Diagnosis
Thermographies
It involves studying body temperature, since controlling it can influence the pain points in patients with Fibromyalgia.
There are many studies that measure pain regulation and temperature control in certain areas of the body. In the Unit we carried out a study, in collaboration with professors from the Pablo de Olavide University, showing the influence of acute cold and stress on the intensity of generalised pain, since there is a low capacity for production and control of temperature in patients with Fibromyalgia (FM).
It has been demonstrated that thermoregulatory pathways can directly influence pain points or tender points in FM, releasing substances that cause hyperalgesia, cooling and inhibition of adipose tissue activity.
